This tangy, sweet apple barbecue sauce is so easy to make, you'll have the good stuff ready by the time your grilled burgers, bbq pork ribs, or shredded pork sandwiches are ready.
Combine all the ingredients in a small sauce pot over medium heat. Warm and stir until smooth. No need to simmer, the idea is to warm it only so that the ingredients marry.
Transfer to a squeeze bottle or however you want to store it. Refrigerate for up to 1 month.
Notes
Sourcing the Right Apple Juice -Look for pure apple juice with no additives or other spices. You could use fresh squeeze apple juice if you want, but it is not necessary.Heat Level -This is not particularly spicy in my world, but if you want to taste it first, then start with half the amount of chile powder and increase to your liking.BBQ Ribs -This is an excellent sweet sauce for ribs. I recommend adding a splash of apple cider vinegar to this sauce to thin it out. Then brush on the ribs during the last hour of cooking. It will thicken as it cooks.
